Welcome to AnniePancake Sewing School in Marin County. We specialize in small group (4 student max) project-based classes for aspiring sewists (yes, that’s the correct term) completely new to machine sewing. We welcome students 12 years to adult. All classes are broken down by skill level and age group: absolute beginner, beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate, and tweens 12-13, teens 14-18, adults 18+. The $100 fee for our Absolute Beginner classes (tote bag or fabric basket) includes all materials and the use of one of our Janome sewing machines. Just bring yourself and a positive attitude. We’ll have you sewing with confidence in no time and you’ll go home with a project to show off to friends and family!

And the fun doesn’t have to stop there - after experiencing the thrill of sewing for the first time, we encourage you to sign up for another beginner or advanced beginner class, as listed on the Class Descriptions page.

Private lessons start at $150 for 90 minutes and availability is limited.

If there’s a class you’d like to take but you don’t see it on the schedule, or the date doesn’t work, please let us know. Let’s find a day and time that works - our small classes of 4 students are flexible that way.

We welcome ideas for future classes! Some ideas in the works are quilted zipper pouches, eyeglasses cases, bag charms, boxer shorts, drawstring bags, simple woven tops, quilted coasters, small pillow covers.
